Independence Please!

As a final post of my posting spree...here are a few snapshots of recent days. As you can see from the video (last item in this post), Noah is forming definite preferences and opinions. He is a character! Independence Day this year took on new meaning for him as he fights to be his own little man. Hope you had a wonderful 4th!!

Other pics here show our weekends in Baltimore... we've been boatin'...

Our Life in Pictures (what month is it again)?

From North Carolina to Manitoba...Have Baby? Will Travel!

From visiting Grammie in Gastonia to building a wheelbarrow with dad back home...to swimmin' with Grandpa in Beausejour...to headin' off with Nana to a wedding in Clear, Lake, Manitoba (then headin' to the ER in Minnedosa) ...Noah learns the value of family. How important we are in each other's lives!

***The last picture is of our drive back to YWG (Winnipeg Airport) after our visit to Minnedosa's rural hospital (where the nurses could not have been more wonderful and warm). Mom's feelings definitely mirrored those of Noah's!***

Harpers Ferry Fam Time

We had a wonderful time with Betty's visit - bopping down to Harpers Ferry and Ellicot City - a cool beverage on a hot day and a warm bubble bath at the day's end give a peak into some of our hustle and bustle. What a wonderful summer we've been having!

History (in the Making): Charleston and Kiawah Island (May)

Bummin' Around Town (Baltimore: April, May)

Noah is 16 months in video one - scarfing down a red pear. In the next video, we are coming home from a Dan Zanes concert (music for kids) - big smiles in the car seat on the ride home! Happiness is...

Are We There Yet?

A truth that rings clearer for me with each passing day is that life is constantly moving. The natural way, as humans, we seem to manage in all this movement is to remain in a constant state of learning. Those with self awareness and a pinch of humility have the opportunity to grow - not just gray hairs and wrinkles, but the ability to be happy, healthy, and to love and be loved. We are never really There. This is a journey that never ends.

Speaking of movement...We are just back from Canada and have been on the go! I will post soon about our trip to Charleston and Kiawah Beach (May 08), NC (June 08) and Beausejour and Clear Lake, Manitoba Canada (July 08), but in the meantime, I thought I would put up a little quote I liked from a book I am reading (thank you for the recommendation Betty: Kids Are Worth It!):

Who of us is mature enough for offspring before the offspring themselves arrive? The value of marriage is not that adults produce children, but that children produce adults.
